When you acquire the services of Lemke and Sons, don't expect us to rush right in and start demolition. Our work begins long before the first shovel of dirt is moved. We believe every customer should know exactly what to expect when working with our company. All of our projects are pre-planned so you aren't left with any surprises.
Only when all of the pre-planning is complete and satisfactory to you, will we begin construction. Once completed, we will have a quality assurance final walk-through. You have the final say, no job will be considered finished until you give your approval.
Additions: Looking to add new grand entrance, master suite, bathroom, mudroom, sun room, porch, carriage house or garage enlargement or even a complete 2nd story addition? From small bump outs to entire whole houses we can design and help with any addition you have in mind.
Attic Remodeling: Not all attics are well suited or structurally designed to be finished living spaces. We can analyze yours and determine if it’s possible and assist you in designing and finishing off your top floor.
Bathrooms: From small and minor refreshes to complete gut and remodels we work on any age home.
Basement or lower level: From water proofing to finishing off the unfinished we can assist you in creating additional living areas in your lowest levels. Adding bedrooms and egress windows, media or theater rooms, bathrooms or home offices we have done it all.
Cabinetry: Cabinetry can be found in more than just the kitchen and bathroom. Think built in book cases, media storage and organization, bars, butler pantries, playrooms, and home offices. Ever dreamed about living in a house with secret passage ways? We can do one of a kind spaces such as hidden pantries and use book cases or wall panels to conceal entrances or storage and closets.
Countertops: We can provide and install almost any type of countertop material available in the market. Any natural stone (granite, soap stone, marble, quartzite, travertine) or man made stone (Cambria, Silestone, Ceasarstone, and many others) Corian, Formica, concrete, ceramic or wood.
Decks: We design and create decks of any size, any time period and almost any material. We can repair or recreate an existing 200 year old porch or add a modern one to a house built this year. We use materials such as tongue and groove porch flooring, natural wood, composite or advanced PVC materials or even brick. We can also add built in lighting to your project.
Design: From interior design work to structural engineering, construction documents to architectural and landscape design we assist with any aspect of the project from start to finish. Whether you need a small backyard gazebo or a whole house we have knowledge and the right people to help every step of the way.
Doors: We can replace any interior or exterior door including garage doors. We can provide you with doors of any size or any material.
Floor coverings: From hardwood floors (both adding new or repairing/refinishing the existing), carpet, LVP or LVT, tile, sheet vinyl, and polished or stamped concrete we can help you adding flooring coverings to any room. We can even add heat below to many flooring options.
Garages: From single stall to an unlimited amount of stalls we can help add new or enlarge your existing. Minor framing/repair work, new slabs, lifts or anything that you can dream of, we can hep design and build it.
Gutters and Downspouts:
Insulation: Anywhere from roofs, walls, to basement rim joists we can add it. If your house has ice dams or you want to save money on energy bills we can investigate and help you come up with a plan.
Insurance work: Although we occasionally work on insurance projects, we do not provide free estimates for insurance work up front. We charge an Authorization to Proceed fee to put together the estimate and this fee is refunded or credited back towards the cost of the job if we are hired to do the work on your property. The estimate or construction proposal amount may higher or lower than the insurance settlement, our contract is with you the owner, and our prices are based on our normal and customary pricing.
Please be careful of scams involving insurance work. State Law (Minn. Stat. 325E.66) prohibits contractors from offering to pay a customer’s insurance deductible or offering anything of value as an inducement to enter into a contract for home repairs that are to be paid for as a part of an insurance claim.
Interiors: Any room can be transformed into your ideal living space. New railings, tin ceiling, walls moved or removed, rooms need to be repurposed… any project you can think of, can be handled by Lemke & Sons
Kitchens: From minor cosmetic work to complete gut and remodels we can help you tackle it all. Both interior kitchens and exterior kitchen/grills stations are possible.
Lead or asbestos: Lemke & Sons is EPA certified to work on homes built before 1978 and take all health risks very seriously. We have HEPA air scrubbers and clean during construction and before we leave.
Painting: We work on both house exteriors and interiors in any room. We can even provide you murals or any specialty painting project on your home.
Repair Work/general remodeling: Anything inside or outside of your home we can look at.
Roofing: Need a new roof? We install many different products but most common are traditional asphalt shingles, metal or flat roofs.
Siding: We can assist you with protecting the exterior of your home with a variety of materials. We use: LP Smartside, Hardie, Wood, Aluminum, Steel, Vinyl, stucco, and brick. Not sure what’s right for you? Call us to discuss.
Skylights / Solatubes: A great way to add natural light to dark places.
Storm Windows and Doors: We can repair existing wooden ones with reglazing or glass replacement, painting, or replace with brand new energy efficient ones. A variety of options are available. Doors with traditional outward opening doors but also sliding screen doors.
Structural Work and Repairs: Thinking about removing a load bearing wall? Have a sinking porch and out of plumb doors and windows? Cracks in your plaster ceiling or walls? Cracks in your foundation or did a wall of your foundation cave in? We can help.
Trim Work: Need baseboard, crown molding or around window and doors (both inside and out)? From painted or stained wood, plaster, metal, brick or tile we can provide any trim to your home. We can custom match or stain any stain or paint color and match any new or existing profiles.
Windows: We can provide and install new or insert replacements in almost any window brand in any size or shape. We can purchase almost all manufacturers products to provide you with many choices. Not sure what window is right for you? Contact us and we can discuss with you pros and cons of windows you are considering. We do not make them but we do install and warranty them and can say with confidence not all windows are created equal. Besides the traditional glass windows, we also have porch windows or can reglaze and refinish your existing single pane windows including replacing sash cords. We can customize your windows like we did at our office with our logo inserted into the picture window.
Repair and Restoration: Have fire damage? Did your basement flood and now you have water damage and mold? Have an older,vintage, or historic house that needs architectural details redone? We can assist in putting your home back together so its healthy and safe to live in.
Other services or information:
Lemke & Sons typically supply and install all products and handle your project from start to finish. If you purchased products and ran out of time, realized you are in over your head or hired the “other guy” who started and is not able to finish or disappeared, contact us and we will see if we can help. We will determine where in the process you are at and handle these projects on a case by case basis. Sometimes projects started by someone else are not able to be saved and need to be started over in order to ensure it is done right and to code. We never want to get involved in a project or wrap up a job unless we are certain it is safe and healthy with no unwanted surprises down the road for you or the next person to own your property. We are only willing to take on a project if it can be done right the first time and are not willing to cut corners, put on temporary band aids, or hide issues.
Do work yourself? If looking to do some aspects of a project yourself, please let us know upfront. We are happy to work with homeowners who want to get their hands dirty and assist with the project. The most common types of work homeowners assist with are interior design, demolition and painting. Please note: not all work can be safely done by others so please be upfront in the initial consultation if you want do some aspects yourself and what aspect of the project you want to do yourself. We provide a detailed schedule so everyone knows when specialized work can start/must be completed.
