Our clients, a young growing family, came to us frustrated because the professional designer they were working with could not provide them with a design that fell within their budget without compromising their requests
This is a common problem we hear from clients. Homeowners contact architects or interior designers to have their dream created but the design is not within their budget, or timeline. They get frustrated, angry, and give up. Lemke & Sons is a general contractor and design build firm. We build what we design, so if you are upfront and honest about your budget expectations, we can give you options within or under your budget. We do not want to waste your time or ours with designs you cannot afford. If you have already hired someone else for the design, we are more than happy to work with outside designers, architects or engineers.
Before #1
Missing from their home was a discernible main entry to welcome visitors, friends and family. They longed to have an entry space where they could get “out of the way of the door” to remove shoes and coats.
After #1
A new covered front entry porch provides an inviting staircase along with a space for relaxing and visiting.
A new custom Alder door provides an anchor and obvious entry point. The deck and railing frame the house and as the homeowners’ state, “makes the house look like it should have always been this way”.
Beyond the beautiful wood entry door, a new mudroom/entry space was created. Easy to maintain, durable tile flooring with cozy hot water in-floor heating and the additional sprayed foam insulation provide this family with the comfort and efficiency they were hoping for, along with plenty of closet space to organize coats, shoes and outside toys.
The family also hoped for a larger screened in area, big enough to visit and entertain, a place to “get away from the bugs” and be able to fit more than the two lawn chairs as their present one did.
After #2
A large new screened in area on the rear of the home extends the living room feel. Large windows open to the wooded back yard, giving it an outside feel with the comforts of being inside. These homeowners enjoy music, family time and visiting with friends all without being bothered by “bugs”.
After #3
Being avid gardeners, the screened in porch serves double duty providing space with lots of light but protected for hardening off their seedlings in the spring. The screened porch now provides the family with the desired “greenhouse” area without the additional costs.
